Soggy Bottom Bar in Flint settles into the neighborhood as a lively bar and grill that draws locals looking for solid food alongside a good selection of drinks. Nestled on Martin Luther King Avenue, it’s a spot where the buzz of a busy evening is the norm, especially on weeknights when the crowd fills the space but service stays attentive and unhurried.

The atmosphere leans into an approachable, relaxed vibe with a bar-centric layout that encourages conversation whether you’re at the counter or tucked into one of the high tables or booths. It’s the kind of place that bridges casual dining and local hangout, making it suitable for an after-work catch-up or a weekend night out with friends.

Food-wise, the menu showcases a variety of hearty, bar-friendly dishes that locals seem to appreciate for their balance of comfort and flavor. The burgers here come highly recommended — burgers like the Wagyu, Swiss Mushroom with loaded fries, or the Spicy Southwest Burger hit the spot for those craving something meaty and thoughtfully stacked. Pulled pork nachos and the black bean nachos tap into sharable plates, ideal for groups. Wings and fried pickles add to that lineup of familiar favorites done well, while snacks like truffle fries and jalapeno popper egg rolls bring some elevated bar bites to the table.

The drink menu complements the food offerings with classics like Old Fashioneds, Moscow Mules, and a lineup of strong margaritas. Craft beers on tap and an array of cocktails make it versatile for different drinking preferences. Notably, the drinks come at reasonable prices, which fits the overall unpretentious character of the place.

Soggy Bottom Bar works best for those who enjoy a social setting with a steady flow of locals and a staff that stays friendly and attentive through busy shifts. It’s a place where the crowd size almost always suggests a good night, whether stopping in for a quick drink or settling in for a full meal. I have been hearing great things about this bar and they are all true. It is always great to find a bar burger that is well made and served with a great drink. I grabbed a porker burger because I can't pass up pulled pork on a thick beef patty and bacon. This was a full on 3 napkin experience. I also had the poutine fries and a Moscow mule to finish the meal everything was exceptional. The atmosphere is great located downtown flint. I'm so happy to have found a new lunch spot

This was our first visit. They were packed. Only one side of the bar was open and the only seats available when we first arrived were along the back wall. We ordered drinks and asked our server if she could let us know when a table was available. She said there was a high table and while taking our things over I noticed there was a booth off to the side and asked if it was okay if we sat there. She said the area was technically closed but it would be okay if we sat there. It was perfect because we were able to put my husband's walker inside the booth and out of the way. I ordered a bloody Mary and he got an old fashioned, both were AMAZING. I ordered the fried pickles and jalapeno popper egg rolls. They were delicious. The egg rolls were spicy but not overly hot and had a great flavor. The fried pickles were spears which made me super happy. My husband ordered the porker burger and he was equally impressed. We'll definitely be back.

This is a great bar to go to if you are looking for good drinks and good food! I normally get the blackened salmon burger with truffle fries! Truly a 10 out of 10! The fried pickles are amazing as well. My friend’s love their wings & pretzels! The drinks are worth every Penny! Never a long wait to be seated. I recommend this place if you are looking for a good time!
